Welcome to Bullard High School, home of the Panthers. Bullard High is a 4A school and serves students in grades 9th - 12th.
In 1899, Bullard ISD served a total of 65 students, representing elementary up to high school, and were housed in one building. In 2002, the current building at 1426 South Houston opened its doors. Since then, Bullard ISD (now six campuses) and the high school continue to grow.
Bullard High School prides itself in providing excellence both academically and athletically. Our teachers and staff work very closely with parents, students, and community stakeholders to provide our students with opportunities to excel in education as well as extra-curricular activities such as fine arts, agriculture, health science, engineering, culinary arts, education, and athletics. BHS is steeped in a rich tradition and supported by the Bullard community. When you enter Bullard High School, you know that you have stepped into the PANTHER NATION.

Panther Partners is a support organization where the Bullard community partners with BHS in order to meet student and staff needs. The organizations members serve as mentors, tutors, teacher and office assistance, organization of staff appreciation and providing rewards/incentives for students for behavior and attendance.

CLASS RANK CRITERIA
- Class rank shall be determined by averaging the weighted/non-weighted grades for all academic courses taken in grades 9-12 for high school credit through the 5th six-week grading period of the senior year.
- Courses excluded from GPS calculations include: grades earned in physical education and physical education substitution courses (athletics, band, and dance); choir and/or any locally developed courses.
- Courses taken for high school credit at the middle school level are not included in the calculation of GPA, nor grades from credit by exam.
- For students in grades 9-2, class rank shall be calculated using a weighted GPA.
- All other classes shall be calculated into class rank using the actual grade earned by the student.
- The district shall record non-weighted numerical grades on student transcripts.
- The valedictorian and salutatorian shall be the eligible students with the highest and second highest ranking as determined by the district's class ranking procedure and who complete the Foundation High School Program plus endorsement at a distinguished level of achievement.
- In addition to scholastic requirements, the valedictorian and salutatorian shall have attended the district high school for the four semesters preceding graduation.
- To qualify to give the valedictorian or salutatorian speech, a student shall not have engaged in any serious misconduct violation of the Student Code of Conduct, including removal to a disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP), a three-day suspension, or expulsion during his or her last two semesters.
- In case of a tie, the valedictorian shall be chosen according to the following criteria: 1. The weighted grade average shall be computed to a sufficient number of decimal places until the tie is broken. 2. If a tie still remains, the student with the highest average of all AP and dual credit courses shall be valedictorian.
- For recognition as honor graduates, sutdent shall have an overall cumulative grade point average of 4.0 and shall have received credit for a minimum of five full year courses at the level of Honors, AP, or Dual Credit.
- Transferred grades are weighted according to the Bullard ISD's Scale.
- If a student received a letter grade at another school, numerical grades shall be assigned as follows: A - 95, B - 85, C - 75, D - 70, F - 60.
- All students whose averages make up the top ten percent of the graduating class and qualify for automatic admission under Education Code 51.803 shall be recognized. Eligibility standards required for the local procedure for determining valedictorian and salutatorian (or other local honor positions) shall not apply to the procedure for determining the top ten percent. The average shall be reported on students' transcripts and made available in accordance with the application deadline for the college or university when requested by the student.
- To be eligible to graduate early, a student shall complete all required coursework and exit-level testing required of the grade 9 class in which he or she began high school. Students must apply at the end of their sophomore year and be approved by the counselor or principal.
- A student who completes the high school program requirements in fewer than four years shall be ranked in the class in which he or she actually graduates. Early graduates shall be eligible for valedictorian and salutatorian honors.
