Six Bullard Panther athletes sign to play at the collegiate level

Six Bullard ISD student-athletes signed to play their sport at the collegiate level during a signing ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the Bullard High School auditorium. 
 
Niyah Gee -Texas Woman’s University (Soccer)
Niyah has been a force on the soccer field for three full seasons at BHS, earning many post-district superlatives, including the TGCA All-State Team last season.

“Niyah Gee, also known as 'The Magician,' has been creating magic for the Bullard Girls Soccer Program since her freshman year." Head Girls Soccer Coach Tiffany Cooksey said. A consistent starter with over 63 matches played, Niyah has set the standard for excellence both on and off the pitch through her leadership, work ethic, and commitment to her teammates. A remarkably versatile player, she has made a tremendous impact on the program—scoring 59 goals and providing 35 assists in her career to date.”

Aubrey Norton - McLennan Community College (Volleyball)
Aubrey Norton is a leading asset on the Lady Panther volleyball team. Over her high school career, she has recorded 1,445 assists, 868 digs, 415 kills, and 180 aces.

"Aubrey’s dedication and love for this sport have paid off, and we are so proud of the player and person she has become," Head Volleyball Coach Cristy O’Bannon said.  "She made a huge impact on the Lady Panther volleyball program and will leave a standard of excellence for others to strive for.  I can't wait to see what amazing things Aubrey accomplishes at McLennan and how much she will continue to grow as a volleyball player.”

Ty Rigsby - University of Texas at Tyler (Baseball)
Ty Rigsby is an All-State, All-Rose County, and All-District 3rd baseman for Bullard Baseball. Over his career, he has recorded a .344 batting average, 1.118 OPS, 32 hits, 38 BBs, 12 doubles, 4 triples, 17 RBIs, and 38 runs scored, and is 14-14 in stolen bases.

“Ty was the leader of our Offense last year," Head Baseball Coach Chad Sherman. "He led the team in most offensive categories and anchored our defense at third base. He was vital to our district championship and Regional SemiFinals playoff run.”

Ethan Foster - University of Texas at Tyler (Baseball)
Also a member of Bullard Baseball, Ethan is a left-handed pitcher and outfielder. He has a 9-1 record, 91 strikeouts, and 1.67 ERA. As a Bullard Panther, Ethan has earned All-State Pitcher, District Pitcher of the Year, All-Rose County 1st team Pitcher superlatives.

"Ethan solidified our pitching rotation and had an incredible year on the mound, leading the team in wins and strikeouts," Coach Sherman said. "He also helped at the plate and in the outfield, helping us to a district championship and a region semi-final appearance.”

Brooklyn Brannen - Ouachita Baptist University (Softball)
Brooklyn Brannen is a four-year varsity pitcher and centerfielder for Bullard Softball. As a pitcher, Brooklyn is 44-5 in the circle with 524 strikeouts in 308 innings pitched. She has recorded 77 hits with 77 RBI's, 15 homeruns, 80 runs scored, and 59 stolen bases.

“Brooklyn stands out as an exceptional competitor in Bullard Softball history, having dedicated countless hours to mastering her craft," Head Softball Coach Julie Murry said. "Her leadership shines through in her ability to elevate those around her. Brooklyn's determination and talent make her an exemplary representative of our school and program. We are proud of her achievements and eagerly anticipate her contributions to the Ouachita Baptist softball program.”

Kirstin Malone - Paris Junior College (Softball)
Kirstin Malone is a force on the field in the shortstop position and at the plate.  As a Lady Panther, Kirstin has 143 hits, 20 home runs, 175 runs scored, 93 (of 94) stolen bases, 93 RBI's, 115 defensive assists, and 133 defensive putouts.

Coach Murry says, “Kirstin is a dynamic player with tremendous tools in our sport. She is a motivated and sincere leader, exemplifying what it means to be a student-athlete. Her dedication to her peers and teammates is remarkable. Kirstin's work ethic is impeccable, and she has made significant sacrifices to become one of the best to represent our red, white, and blue. We are thrilled to see her talents progress to the next level and eagerly anticipate the impact she will make at PJC.”
