School bus safety reminders to celebrate National School Bus Safety Week

Bullard ISD school bus parked at angle in parking lot

This week is National School Bus Safety Week!  We are so thankful to our awesome transportation team for ensuring our Panthers arrive at school and return home safely! Here are a few reminders of how our community can also help keep our Panthers safe! ❀️🚌❀️

Bus Safety Laws:
🟑Flashing Yellow lights means the bus is preparing to stop. Please slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle.
πŸ›‘ Flashing Red lights and extended STOP sign arm means STOP. Wait until the flashing reds stop, the STOP arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving before driving again.
πŸ›‘ Flashing Reds on Two-Lane Roads: Vehicles traveling in both directions must stop.
πŸ›‘ Flashing Reds on Multi-Lane Paved Across Roads: Vehicles traveling in both directions must stop.
πŸ›‘ Flashing Reds on Divided Highway: Vehicles behind the bus must stop. Vehicles traveling in the opposite direction proceed with caution.
