Happy CTE Month!

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month! CTE Month is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value and achievements of CTE programs across the country. CTE curriculum is aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare students for further education and careers in current or emerging professions. Students receive technical training, learn employability skills, and acquire academic knowledge that prepares them for the competitive 21st-century workplace and lifelong success after graduating from high school. 

Our BHS Culinary program is a great example! Culinary students learn valuable skills in the cooking and hospitality industry. They also learn how to operate and manage their own culinary business through programs like their recently launched food truck, 2493 Eats. The group held a trial run this week for BHS staff, and after a little more practice, they plan to hit the road to serve staff at our other district campuses.
