Growing Learning Opportunities

We can't think of a better way to celebrate 🌎 #WorldEarthDay 🌎 than by showing off the fantastic gardening skills of Bullard Elementary's gifted and talented students!

Inside the school's new greenhouse, students have been busy learning about plant growth cycles by planting flower and vegetable seedlings, charting growth patterns, and harvesting the plants when the time is right. Earlier, students even grew lettuce to help feed the school's pet bunny, Leo! 🐰🥬

"Learning about the plant cycle in a greenhouse is a hands-on experience that teaches students about the science behind plant growth and instills a sense of responsibility and care for the environment," Kayla Allen, BES teacher, said. "Seeing their excitement for the different growth phases along the way has been a lot of fun."

Although GT students maintain the plants daily, all BES classes are invited to visit the greenhouse to enjoy fun learning opportunities.
