Bullard ISD welcomes Chad Sherman as its new head baseball coach. Sherman brings a wealth of baseball experience, having played and coached at the collegiate level.

Sherman, a 2006 graduate of Bullard High School, was part of the pitching squad at Panola College from 2006 to 2008 before transferring to Texas A&M University for one year. He later completed his collegiate playing career at The University of Texas at Tyler in 2011 and played one year of professional ball for the Wichita Wingnuts in Wichita, Kansas. Sherman’s coaching experience includes serving as an assistant baseball coach at UT Tyler for almost three years, followed by three years as an assistant baseball coach at Tyler Junior College. During his time at TJC, the Apaches won three national baseball championships.

“I am so excited to be the next head baseball coach at Bullard High School,” Coach Sherman said. “Being born and raised in Bullard and knowing the rich tradition of success in baseball, I look forward to getting started this upcoming school year. Our athletes will be students first, and we will strive to proudly represent the Bullard ISD community in all we do. I want to thank my wife, Whitney, and my two sons, Jack (8) and Wesley (7), for supporting me through this, and I look forward to seeing everyone soon! ”

Sherman earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Human Resource Development while at UT Tyler. Beginning in 2017, he managed daily operations and lessons at Tyler’s D-BAT Academies before assuming the role of branch manager at Daiken Comfort in Tyler in 2021.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Sherman to the Bullard Panther coaching staff,” Bullard Athletic Director Scott Callaway said. “Our Panther baseball program reached the Regional Semifinals for the first time in 20 years this year, and we know Coach Sherman will help us build upon this success in the years to come.”
