Bullard ISD announces delay in opening new Bullard Middle School campus
Bullard ISD has been eagerly preparing for the opening of the new Bullard Middle School campus, a Bullard Bond 2022 project, originally planned to be completed in August 2025. District leadership and construction teams have announced a delay in opening the new campus is necessary. Bullard ISD now anticipates moving into the new building over the 2025-2026 winter break. Students and staff are expected to begin using the new facility at the start of the spring semester in January 2026.
“We are incredibly proud of the design and construction of our new middle school campus,” Bullard ISD Superintendent Dr. Jack Lee said. “Unfortunately, no construction project of this size can be completed without challenges arising. Although we have been working on building infrastructure since the design phase of the new campus, we continue to face challenges created by substantial weather delays, utility connections, access to public and private easements, and the road construction at FM2493 and US69.”
Although the building’s physical construction is still on target, timelines now project utility connections and the other infrastructure needs to be completed in mid-September. The only other construction timeline this delay could impact is the renovation of the existing Bullard Middle School for it to become an intermediate campus.
“Bullard ISD remains in close communication with all involved parties, and the district looks forward to celebrating the opening of the new Bullard Middle School as soon as it is ready to safely welcome students and staff,” Dr. Lee said. “We are grateful for the patience, support, and understanding of our parents, staff, and students throughout this process.”
