Bullard Education Foundation awards more than $83K in classroom grants

The Bullard Education Foundation (BEF) recently visited campuses to award more than $83,000 in grant funds to help fund innovative classroom learning programs and projects.

“Grant Day is truly one of the most rewarding days of the year because we get to see our community’s generosity come full circle and go directly back into our classrooms,” BEF President Ashley Cason said. “Seeing the excitement from our teachers and educators reminds us exactly why we do what we do and how much of an impact we can make when our community comes together to support Bullard ISD.”

The 40 grants, totaling $83,625.81, will benefit students of all ages and include projects such as interactive learning tools, science and math enrichment, S.T.E.M. activities, physical education enrichment, field trips, and more!

Second grade teachers Stephanie Allen and Sara Wilson were awarded funds for their submitted grant named "Building Emotional Intelligence Through STEM." Mrs. Allen says she is excited about what the learning opportunity will bring to her classroom.

"This grant blends storytelling with hands-on engineering to help students grow both academically and emotionally," Mrs. Allen said. "By tackling creative STEM challenges inspired by favorite picture books, students won't just build cool projects—they will also practice empathy, teamwork, and critical problem-solving skills. This is an amazing resource that ensures students are advancing both intellectually and socially every day.

To add to the morning's excitement, the Bullard High School Panther Band drumline and cheerleaders joined BEF members and district administrators as they made their way through hallways to surprise grant winners.

“We are grateful for the Bullard Education Foundation and our community’s continued support,” Superintendent Dr. Micah Dyer said. “Together, we are creating more opportunities for our students to succeed in the classroom and beyond.”
