WebMastery is....web designing of a Web page, Website or Web application. The term generally refers to the graphical side of Web development using images, CSS and XHTML. The softwares utilized in this course are but not limited to: Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Fireworks, Freehand, and Flash. This course covers all major Internet Services. These services include: Email, list serves, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), terminal emulation connections (Telnet), and World Wide Web (WWW). Students will have hands on experience with these services and will learn what it takes to get connected to the Internet. Students will also create their own Web page using HTML and a web editor. This course is designed to teach advanced web site design techniques using Photoshop and its plug-in filters. Students will create a theme set for a web site which include icons, graphics, background images, bullets, buttons, fonts and banners. Students will also get experience using ImageReady and Shockwave.
Students complete daily lessons learning various techniques and layout web designs. They also complete several web page projects which include personal web pages, Food web pages, school related web pages, academic web pages, and many more. Students enrolled in this class also learn image manipulation techniques. These images are incorporated within the webpages.
Student Requirements...Students are required to complete all assignment in class. If students are absent, they are given opportunities in class to make-up work. Tutorials and additional assistance is scheduled before and after school for students to make-up work and/or receive additional help if required.
