Computer Science is.... A course that implements JAVA programming.  Students program utilizing the platform JAVA 2 SDK Standard Edition.  Java is a programming language developed by Sun Microsystems that creates code for interactive applications that is executable on web pages by web browsers. These Java applications can execute on any platform--Mac, PC, etc.  Students complete several projects from beginners to advance level programming dealing with classes, applets, codes, and layouts.  Students design and run all programs in the lab were computers have compilers installed for each required assignments. Computer Science introduces problem solving, programming, program development, algorithm analysis, and data structures. Students will also learn to develop correct software in a current programming language environment. This course covers the syntax of the Java Programming Language. Some of the topics covered will be objects, references, control structures, error handling, and others.

Student Requirements...Students are required to complete all assignment in class.  If students are absent, they are given opportunities in class to make-up work.  Tutorials and additional assistance is scheduled before and after school for students to make-up work and/or receive additional help if required.
