Digital Graphics and Animations
is the process of solving a problem visually.  The goal of digital graphics is to create a visual solution to a communication problem.  It is a unique combination of creative and technical ability.  Further, it incorporates extensive drawing, text, and layout tools, as well as some limited capabilities for manipulating bitmap images.  Digital Graphics offers sophisticated tools for creating, editing, and manipulating images, from painting different colors to changing the value of individual pixels.  It offers working in any graphic file format.

Class Assignments...Students complete various tutorials learning new techniques as it relates to digital graphics utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Flash MX, Photoshop, Jasc Software, and Print Shop Pro.  Students also complete Internet activities, group activities, and textbook/worksheet assignments.  Homework is not assigned.  All assignments are completed in the class which is equipped with 20 computers, 2 printers (one laser b/w printer and one laser color printer) and 2 scanners.  Students also have access to digital cameras when required for assignments.

Student Requirements...Students are required to complete all assignment in class.  If students are absent, they are given opportunities in class to make-up work.  Tutorials and additional assistance is scheduled before and after school for students to make-up work and/or receive additional help if required.
