What is “missing work” ?
“Missing” work is an assignment that has not been turned in. It is calculated in the average as a “0”.  I suspect that some missing assignments are turned in, but with no name on them (resulting in a grade of zero).

What is your “make-up work” policy?
Students are responsible for completing any assignment missed due to an excused absence within a reasonable length of time after their return to school ....  generally, one day of make-up time for each day of school missed.

Can my child turn his work late?
“Late” work is accepted one day late in the late work folder by my desk with a penalty of 30% off the grade.

Can my child “redo” a paper for an improved grade?
Tests and quizzes (but not daily work) may be corrected for a 70 with these provisions:
1)      The corrections are completed in my classroom within one week of the test.
2)      The corrections are done on a separate sheet on paper and stapled to the original paper.
3)      All work is shown neatly on the corrections.

What is “dropped” work?
“Dropped” work consists of the 3 lowest daily grades each six weeks. The computer  calculates these 3 grades in the average. Hopefully, this helps the occasional (and normal) forgotten, unidentified,  or misplaced assignment from severely affecting the student’s average.

Do you offer tutorials?
Tutorials are offered from 7:30 –7:45 AM and after school only by appointment any afternoon except Friday. Your child will need a note from you to be admitted into the hall before the 7:45 AM bell.

Thank you for your active interest in your child’s progress.
